Re: 84 CJ rebuild, replace, restore questions to the wrenche

I have the factory 2 barrel, and a webber 2 barrel carb I can sell you, both need rebuilds, pm me about them if interested. Also for the 258 I think Clifford makes some pretty awesome stuff. You might want to think about switching over to a newer jeep 4.0 head, and also the fuel injection from it.

Re: 84 CJ rebuild, replace, restore questions to the wrenche

I would say just take care of it while you're there. It would save time, money, and effort later on. The piece of mind would be worth it to me.

Re: 84 CJ rebuild, replace, restore questions to the wrenche

I will say with the 258, swap out to a HEI ignition setup. The difference is pretty significant. The aluminum valve covers do hold up a lot better then the plastic one. Also Clifford makes really good manifolds for this engine. and crower makes a pretty good cam. Watch out for rear main seal leaks,...

Re: What's too much weight when balancing tires?

I didn't have access to a scale, the way I did it was to buy 4 1000 round packs, and 2 250 round packs and kind of guessed
what would be about half a pack, I didn't sit there and count each one no. but it's close enough. The math I had saved on my computer from this should have been 1130.
