RC Labor Day Pics and trail damage report...

Post by JeepGrl » Sun Sep 05, 2010 8:31 pm

We had a great weekend. Thomas, his g/f and I drove up Friday evening, Chris joined us that night. Paul, Brandi and Wern met up with us in the morning. Paul already was broke before he got to RC. He had a split in the tranny cooler line and had to fix that. Then we were off. We didn't bother to let Wern get his feet wet on the greens. We took him straight onto the blues! What a trooper! We even had Thomas' baby YJ on 29's leading the pack at one point when Chris was right seating with him. So we ran blues all day and on the last trail, Thomas stalled and couldn't get started after that, so after popping the clutch, we headed back to camp (about 4ish). We fixed Wern's one bit of trail damage (a slightly pinched exhaust tip) and he headed back to school with his roomie. Paul wasn't ready to end the day, so Paul, Chris, Thomas and I hit the trails again. This time, it was blacks. We did trail 5 and a few others. Had a great time. I shared my black wheeling with Thomas. Paul decided to hit Yellow Jacket Ridge. As I was spotting...the rocks bit back and caused my already bent tierod to fold into a horseshoe. Thankfully, Chris brought up a spare tierod, the tierod was changed on the spot (and Paul got bit in the finger by my winch) and off to camp we went. All in all, it was a great trip. Can't wait to go back. PS....Thomas and Wern, I give you guys total props for following Paul and I on the blues. Thomas needs to re-straighten his engine skid (i'm so glad I told you to get one) and he managed to get strapped by every jeep there....including the new guy. But he was a trooper and only on 29's!

That was a great weekend. For the new guys I planned it as a baptism by fire... as long as you got a good spotter, take them out on the fun stuff and show them what their rig can really do. I have to give props to Thomas and Wern for taking all the hard lines on all the blues all day. We sure broke Wern's cherry, by the end of the day he was almost pushing Thomas and I up the trail. Im glad all the new guys had a great time. Thanks again Scott for letting me ride along today, that was a blast! I dont think I've ever had that much fun right seating, I definitely want to do it again if thats cool with you.

Crystal your more then welcome to use my tierod as long as you need. But I do want it back eventually.

No problem. I'll be ordering my beefy tierod within the next couple days.

Chris will have to tell you which trails we hit, he was the guide. I do know we hit CV, Paul and I ran on a bit of the black side of 20, we did 5. And other stuff in between. Plus, i'm not sure what we played on in the evening....
