Trail Report: 10/06/2012

Post by JeepGuy21 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 5:40 pm

Well this weekend was a good one to go wheeling. A little on the cool side but not unbearable. Finally for once it didnt rain/sleet/snowed while I was camping. Anyway I didnt get any definite responses from MJC so I hooked up with one of my club buddies and his samurai. We also had another samurai join us. They were on 31's locked and leafed and I was on 35's locked front and rear. This was my first shakedown run but after running a couple trails I could just feel the difference in a properly setup rig. We stuck to the main properly and ran all over the place. We ran mostly blues and blacks for the day and I tried a couple lines on tombstone but was denied. Noteable trails we ran were yellowjacket, trail 13, trail 22, snakebite, alot of greens, powerline hill, and alot more that I cant remember. The Jeep preformed very well with the low lift and having lockers. It has very good suspension articulation and was very surprising. Damage for the day I put a hole in my soft top after leaning into a tree and ripped the shock mount off the Ford 8.8. The samurais had some body damage but not much else. Overall a very good day trail riding. I will post more photos and hopefully some gopro videos soon when my buddies sober up. Any questions about the rig or what not don't hesistate to ask.

And no I didnt flop :flipoff:

Nice video for you first try the music was good enough that i didnt have to mute it out. Would have been nice if you cleaned the mud spot of a little better. The tree you hit to mess up your top got mine back in 06.
I would rather smash my nuts with a rubber mallet than listen to you tell me how cool your jeep is!

Thanks Skyler. After reviewing the footage I thought to myself, ya I probably should have cleaned that up a bit better. Getting on the trail was alot more fun than paying attention to the camera. My exhaust made the camera shake too much so I had to go over it with music unfortunately. I don't have many songs on the computer so had to use what I had! Do you know by chance what trail that is? Is that exit a black or red? Looking into getting the top patched up and back together, but for now the hardtop is on.

Looks like you guys had fun. I got hung up on a tree last month and ripped my A-pillar channel for my top off. At first I thought that was the same tree on Camel Back but it looked more open where you were. There's a small hole in my top where it was dragged down the rollbar but not enough to worry about now. I picked up some tent sealer for it. One day I'll get around to fixin' it.

Dylan, looks good. Glad to see you finally getting out on the trails after all the build time. Looks like the rig works well.

Thanks Paul, might not even be on the road yet without your help with the axle swap.
