all of the "cheap" places I have found are around the same cost. I am just getting my ducks in a row more than anything else right now. the only thing I have done thus far is a lot of cooling system flushing trying to get the crud and rust out of the system.
I am also making a mental note of things I am going to need to get it on the road as $$$ allows.
summer time is generally a time low $$$ for us because of marcy being a teacher, so right now I am refraining from making any purchases because I know the months of july and august are usually kinda tight.

I know that feeling. Year before last Amy took off 4 months so the summer hurt even more.

Why not put it in yourself?

honestly I am not sure what the process is for installing XJ glass. if its just the string/seal trick it might be worth looking into, but if it requires sealants/chemicals I am not real comfortable with doing that on my own.

Getting it out is straight forward. A little heat and a string to break the seal. I am sure you have to glue the new one back in. I bet you could save some money by taking the old windshield out for the shop.

The next time I hit crazy rays, I may "practice" the windshield glass removal process and see how it works out. If I can get one out in 1 piece I may give it a shot on my own.

I work for Russel Toyota and we have this guy who will come to are work if we call him and I believe he charges 85 dollars to install it, which includes taking the old one out and taking it with him. You have to either pay for a windsheild, which I can get a discount threw Glass Masters, or just supply him with one. If you give me make and model I can call Glass Masters and see how much one is.

I can get it done for 200 dollars all together, so taking it out, putting it in, and then replacing all the trim with new trim. It can be done when ever, so just let me know.

yea no problem, I am waiting to hear back from another glass company. Just to make sure it would be cheaper threw them, but I like glass masters glass, plus 200 bucks for a window including install is pretty damn good.
