6 CYL INLINE HELP!!!!

Post by HOGHEAD » Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:08 am

Okey Ive done something against my better judgement ,, I bought a 84 CJ-7 with a 6 banger in it ,,, pulled the valve cover off awaile back & after putting new gaskets on it ,, I found water in the oil from when i left the hood up :ANAL: & we had a down pour,,, Luckly I caught it & was woundering if you can prime the 6 bangers like you can the V8s,, Its been sitting about a year,, I cant seem to put my hands on a priming tool for the 6 bangers,,,or should i buy a old distributor shaft & use it ,,,

An old distributer works best. Take to the cam gear off the bottom. Gut the top and hook it to a drill. I have used a large screwdriver before. If you cut off the handle and put it in on a drill. Wrap a rag around it and shove the in to the block. Where the dist. goes in. Helps keep it centered.
How did i spend four grand on parts in one month?

I might still have my old distributer, out in the garage. Let me know if you need it.
