Where Can I Wheel In MD?

Post by wrks6 » Tue Jan 31, 2006 12:26 pm

Assateague Island
Potomac-Garrett State Forest in Garrett County
CLOSED - Savage River State Forest in Garrett County
CLOSED - Green Ridge State Forest in Allegany County
CLOSED - Pocomoke River State Forest in Worcester County

These places a great for those of you who are looking to get off the pavement for the first time or take the family out for a drive. Most of them can be done in 2wd though.

For the 4wd wheelers: Excluding the few who have written permission from friends, family, and/or other private land owners, THERE ARE NO LEGAL WHEELING SPOTS IN MARYLAND! Seeing a dirt path in the woods and driving down it just because you want to go off road is not legal or condoned by the Maryland Jeep Club! If you choose to wheel illegally, please do not post on this board. It gives all off roaders a bad name and makes it even more difficult for those who are trying to keep the few wheeling spots we have left open.

We have numerous trail rides to Rausch Creek (Joliett, PA), as well as trips to other parks. Look for posts under the "Trail Rides" section to see dates and locations. Feel free to start your own post if you want to organize a trip or if you are just looking for a few people to wheel with.
