Placed my first parts order tonight. Ordered a new crossmember skidplate, rocker guards, dual pull winch plate, traction bar kit, and 8 1.5inch 2bolt tube flanges from Barnes 4wd.

Once I put my loan check in the bank tomorrow, I can start ordering the rest of the parts and get progress back on track.

You're doing a fine job. I'll be free to give you some more help in about two weeks. I'm single dad until my wife gets back from work training.

Cool that will work good. There should be a big pile of parts here by then. Im gonna order shocks, shock hoops, springs, steering links, high steer arms, pitman arm, hydro assist, lockout hubs, caliper mounts, rear diff cover, and paint later this week.

If I watch how I spend my money over the next 2 or 3 months, I am hoping to be able to get the axles regeared to 5.38 with an air locker in the front.

Another order done. No real progress pics. Just cutting off old brackets and filling holes in the frame. I hope to have the new rear crossmember/ suckdown winch mount welded in this weekend if my damn cold would go away.

Ruffstuff Specialties: steering links, sterling diff cover, seat belt brackets, 10 small ziptie mounts, and 10 medium ziptie mounts.

I have to call AOI on monday to see about some tubing and getting a grille hoop bent up.

End of weekend update:
I have got a ton of parts delivered over the last week. I got installed but I have been bad at taking pics so I will take pics tomorrow night.

So far I have the new trans crossmember, new rear leafsprings, winch plate, highsteer arms, and front caliper mounts installed.

I had to cut a hole in the crossmember and make a dropped area to so I could get the t-case closer to the plate. I have also been working some on the cage. It was a competition cage so it was 6inches taller than the windshield and had some bars that would t let me run doors or a top. I ended up cutting off the door bars, side bars, seat bar and 2.5 inches off the height of the cage. It fits better and I'm hoping I can stretch the top over it but I ran into a problem with the X bars hitting where the B pillar mounts at the fender. I'm gonna trim the body some so I can slide the cage back an inch. The sheetmetal will be easier to fix than doing more tube work than I already have to.

Another problem I have run into is space for the rear shocks and traction bar all to mount on the axle. I'm gonna measure tomorrow but my new plan is to make new upper mounts and mount the shocks behind the axle.

I have to stop at AOI on Tuesday to pick up some tubing and I'm stopping at BTW Offroad in Westminster to pick up a brand new set of 5 40x13.5R17 Nitto trail grapplers. Now I just have to find a set of rims cheap.

Picked up a set of H2 rims from Paul yesterday and got my tires today. The chrome on the rims is in poor shape so I'm scoffing up the chrome to try to paint them
ImageImageImage
I have to pick up a router bit tomorrow so I can open up the wheel centers to fit over the sterling hubs. I'm trying to get all the sanding done this week so I can mount the tires Saturday then paint the rims

Picked up a grille hoop from AOI this morning and had order the stuff to regear the axles. They axles are getting 5.38 gears with master install kits. The front is getting a Yukon zip locker and the rear is getting a Yukon grizzly locker. I will still need to get a air compressor for the zip locker but that can wait till Im closer to being done.

I also picked up 14ft of 1x2 inch 1/8 wall tubing for the seat mounts in the cage and a few other things.

I drop the axles off next friday so my goal is to have all the fab work done on them before then.
