2005 TJ P0296 & P0298 O2 Sensor Issue

Post by Annapsmitty » Fri Dec 15, 2017 8:50 am

2005 TJ owners please step forward!

Working on solving the P0296 & P0298 O2 sensor issue that is common to this year. I know the O2 sensors need to be replaced with NTK sensors (manufactured by NGK), but was curious about people's experience with the PCM reprogramming detailed in TSB 18-028-06? Anyone had this done? Results? Cost?

Thanks y'all! :smt039

I was a 2005 TJ owner for just over 11 years, first time I heard of this "common" issue.

Lucky bast.... Uh, I mean...

By common, I meant it happens enough to have a TSB issued, but not "common" enough to be a recall.

I miss my TJ, but the JK is pretty sweet...never thought I'd say that.

That's the same thing I said when I went from my 89 YJ to my 02 TJ. Said I would never get rid of this one unless they came out with 4 door or a pickup.... reverse psychology
