Fitting 33's on my ZJ with 3 1/2" lift

Post by Mike in MD » Wed Aug 31, 2011 3:46 pm

Got a good deal on brand new 33's last week, so I figured I would give it a shot and see how they fit. I knew it would be tight, but not that tight  Was planning on trimming the fenders back anyway, the rubbing got me to expedite the process.

Still have to pound the pinch seam, and finish shaping the front. The back also needs to be shaped better, and all of the tabs will be welded down. Also have to trim back bumper, picking up a front bumper tomorrow :D

Do you have adjustable control arms? I putt 33s on my zj with hardly any trimming.

Here's another Grand Cherokee pic for ya with some trimming and a nice set of tires under it.

Not yet. Plan on putting adjustables on when I get around to upgrading front and rear (HPD30 Front, 8.8 rear w/4.10's). Trimming was on my list of to do things anyway, just in case I ever decided to go with a bigger tire :D

Looks nice and clean! Well done! Look forward to seeing the build progress, mine has been at a standstill since I picked up the XJ.

Thanks,
My ZJ projects got put on the side when I got the wife an 89 XJ. Had to replace the front end so it was driveable. Glad to be getting back on mine, getting the itch to do some wheeling :D

Mounted XJ flares today. Couldn't justify laying out 400+ bones for something that would eventually get ripped off.
