88 Renix giving me hell

Post by ajt823 » Thu Feb 28, 2013 5:43 pm

A few months ago I picked up an 88 cherokee with 182K miles for $1100, the jeep has been great to me and keeps up with rigs twice as capable on the trails :D . However, recently she has started acting up :x . I have gone from getting about 200-220 miles per tank down to about 100. She idles real low and will cut out if reved above about 3500 rpm. Also just today started blowing black smoke out of the exhaust when started. It also will pull like a jumpy sputter while driving sometimes as if my gears jump. Any suggestions on where I should start? Thanks!

P.S. anyone willing to come and help me out is more than welcome to im willing to throw you some bones or provide some beer and pizza!
