Mounting Hellas

Post by ultrav » Sat Mar 05, 2011 5:52 pm

OK, so 2007 KJ.

Who has mounted lights on this style of front bumper?
I have a couple ideas for mounting but wanted to see what the masses have done already.

I assume you are talking about the stock bumper (if you can call it that), I have seen it done.

The second thing I did to my KJ was but a new front bumper on it, (skids were the first). I went with the WARN and there are others out there that look very nice that will give you the increased approach angle(s), ability to mount a winch and the tow points that are ever so handy out there, oh and do not forget about the CB antenna... so you have several options. I mounted Hellas on the WARN if that counts (after the picture for the avitar was taken).
See ya!

Yeah, I'm talking stock bumper. Wife would kill me for spending over $1000 on a bumper when I'll only be going wheeling occasionally. Matter of fact, I think I'd have to shoot myself for spending that much for a bumper.

You can use the stock location, since you already have the holes there. The lights are a bit pricey, since they include an OEM wiring kit, but deals can be found on eBay. There's also the Renegade light kit that mounts on the bumper and costs about the same as a set of Hellas, but I'm not sure how well the wiring for that will work on you Libby. If you remove the grill you can see where there's two metal tabs under the bumper that can be drilled to mount fog lights.

I ended up taking the $300 way to mount $75 lights heh. Bought a full brush bar and mounted them there.

Good deal! Now you have to do some off roading in the dark to use them

I just ordered a grille guard for my KJ also. I'm thinking of installing round Hellas or duallys on it.
