A confusing web site

Tell me that does not say that I am racist for the sole act of being white. Can someone else see another point to this web site?

You are.

This campaign is about white privilege and so these suggestions are focused on what white people can do. Use the resources listed below to learn more.

•Learn how historically white privilege has benefited you and other white people.
•Accept that you have unearned privilege and advantages—write them down
•Start seeing/hearing the privileges and advantages you have:

So realize that because you're white you get cheaper tuitions, better refunds, more accessability to scholarships, the ability to take another less-qualified person's job because of the color of your skin, you are excused from inexcusable behavior, you pull the race card any time someone challenges you...

wait...did I say white?

That is what I thought. But last time I checked I could not get any help with loans for my mortgage because I did not fall into a hardship category or minority category. And I do not get any special scholarships because of the same reason. But hey, I am white, it is easier for me to get a job so I can pay full price for big ticket items.

Okay...so if you are white...

•I can walk around a department store without being followed; Yes. They follow every black person in every department store. They have hundreds of security on duty in case there is a "black rush". They don't care what color you are, just how much you make.
•I can come to meeting late and not have my lateness attributed to my race; Don't show up to a damn meeting late consistantly and no one will think anything. Try it.
•I am able to drive a car in any neighborhood without being perceived as being in the wrong place or looking for trouble; Try East Baltimore after nightfall and try to "fit in" whitey.
•I can turn on the television or look to the front page and see people of my ethnic and racial background represented; True - but so can every other race. Look at the paper today. http://www.washingtonpost.com/regional I see stories about people who are white, black, latino, and arabic. If you turn on the TV, try turning it to your devoted channel, BET. Also, may I recommend ESPN, the CW, TBS, and Disney.
•I can take a job without having co-workers suspect that I got it because of my racial background; Lie. Didn't white people get the job because we're white? Isn't that what this site is about? Wait...so if we didn't get the job because of our race...what is the problem? It says you suspect we got the job because of our race...
•I can send my 16-year old out with his new driver’s license and not have to give him a lesson how to respond if police stop him.
Every parent does this. You are not special..

I get followed around in stores. That could be that I look like a hillbilly.

•I can come to meeting late and not have my lateness attributed to my race; Don't show up to a damn meeting late consistantly and no one will think anything. Try it.
I was late to one staff meeting that was completely BS for me to be, but I did get a secondary meeting the next day regarding my attention to detail. I show up 25 minutes early to that meeting now.

•I am able to drive a car in any neighborhood without being perceived as being in the wrong place or looking for trouble; Try East Baltimore after nightfall and try to "fit in" whitey.
Cops will follow you and run your tags no matter who you are if you are driving the speed limit on RT50. Happens often to me.

Voice of America is a government run TV station that features news broadcast from every other country on the planet. But no American honkies.

•I can take a job without having co-workers suspect that I got it because of my racial background; Lie. Didn't white people get the job because we're white? Isn't that what this site is about? Wait...so if we didn't get the job because of our race...what is the problem? It says you suspect we got the job because of our race...
My boss gave me my job, and promoted me to where I am. I am a whitey, but he is black. He actually got sued by a white guy who works with us. The claim was racial discrimination.

•I can send my 16-year old out with his new driver’s license and not have to give him a lesson how to respond if police stop him.

My 16 year old wont be driving. If she is anything like me at that age, she wont be mature enough to drive. Trust me, I know me.

I can come to meeting late and not have my lateness attributed to my race; Don't show up to a damn meeting late consistantly and no one will think anything. Try it.

I at one time worked in a group as the only white person. More than once I had to work alone for half the day while my co-workers left to attend a Blacks In Government Meeting (BIG).
